It is funny, when I first thought about the concept of being a flexetarian I was not sure how long it would last. Would bacon be my undoing? Could a tasty steak or grilled chicken lure me away from this choice?
Turns out, no.
I can honestly say that I have not had a craving for red meat now in well over 4 years. The first couple years were hard as I adjusted to the life choice, but as time went on I found that I no longer needed the food I used to crave. Now I go out to eat and no longer fear that I will not have something to eat.
The other change is that I no longer eat with an attitude of abstinence. I have the attitude of: Look at all the things I GET to eat, not look at what I am denying myself.
The important thing is: I am a flexetarian. I can eat meat any time, any where, for any reason. I just choose not to.
The secret is: I feel really, really good.
